How to Recognize Teachers Who Produce Amazing Results

The quality of education a child gets is directly connected to how passionate their teachers are about their work. It's hard for students to get excited about things like finding the square root of "x" and the use of proper grammar if they don't have someone inspiring them to learn.

More so, there are plenty of teachers that go above and beyond the basics asked of them in the classroom. Many teachers oversee student groups, coach athletics, and get involved with the planning of schoolwide events. They're actively engaged in the educational experience of their students as a whole, not just how well they do on tests.

Such teachers deserve recognition.

Here are a few creative, meaningful ideas for teacher awards to consider giving out this year.

1. Performance Medals

Performance medals are small medallions that can be customized to say anything you'd like. You can keep them short and simple to display a person's name, or you can come up with creative awards to give teachers of different subjects or grade levels.

If you want to motivate your best teachers to perform even better, create a competition to see who can gain the most by the end of the term.

2. "Best Of" Trophies

As cool as performance medals are, you can't go wrong with a classic. It might be best to stick to trophies and come up with unique wording for each one that you hand out.

Think outside of the box with this. Don't just reward a teacher for being the "Best Science Teacher" or the "Best Coach." Think about what a teacher is known for among their students and their colleagues. Play with the thought of rewards like "Best Dressed Teacher" or "Most Likely to Make Learning Fun."

These show that you've really gone the extra mile to appreciate how your teachers go above and beyond.

3. Plaques and Badges

Last but not least, plaques and badges.

Plaques are pretty common in educational institutions. Between the awards that are handed out to students and the degrees that teachers love to display, it makes perfect sense to continue using plaques as awards for teachers.

Badges, on the other hand, are a little more unique. They come in all kinds of sizes and shapes. They can be collected by teachers and create a new, fun tradition among your staff as teachers work to earn more of them.

Create A+ Teacher Awards

You can go back and forth about which teacher awards to create all you want. But at some point, you have to stop brainstorming and just pick!

Remember, what matters most is the thought behind the gesture, the look of the award a teacher receives is just the icing on the cake. Whatever you pick, though, you do want it to be a good-looking award whether it's in the form of a trophy, plaque, or medal.
