Design & Personalisation
Got a question about artwork, proofs, or personalising your Trophies Plus Medals order? Find answers to your questions below.
Will I receive a proof for my order?
If you've chosen bespoke award with custom text and your own logo engraved on the surface such as engraved glass or something from our EcoRoute range, you will receive a proof to approve before we can start engraving.
Unfortunately, due to the vast amount and quantity of each order we are unable to offer proofs for trophies, medals and awards with inserts.
How does the proofing process work?
You can expect your personalised proof to land in your inbox within just 24 hours of placing your order. If you haven’t seen this come through within this timeframe, please double check your junk inbox.
If you feel like tweaking anything in your proof, simply reply to your proof email with your changes and a revised proof will be on its way to you.
We won't be able to start working on your order until the proof has been approved. To avoid any potential delays in your delivery date, please keep an eye out for the email!
Please note – once the proof gets the green light, it's set in stone. So, let's get it perfect from the get-go!
What exactly is a custom insert?
A custom insert is a glossy self-adhesive circle which is applied to a recess in a trophy or medal to showcase a design of your choice. They are a powerful branding tool, allowing you to display your logo with pride on every trophy or medal you present.
Using advanced printing technology, your design is carefully reproduced with vibrant colours and crisp details, ensuring a durable and visually striking finish. The process is highly customisable, allowing you to achieve the exact look you desire.
While most of our trophies and medals come with pre-set inserts, we provide a diverse range of custom products, giving you the freedom to choose your preferred insert. Explore our selection here.
On the product page for custom products, you have two insert options:
1. Standard inserts – our range of preset designs. Choose this option if you don’t have a design of your own to use!
2. Logo inserts – simply upload your own logo onto the product page and our design team will adapt it to fit the insert size.
You can also order logo inserts individually here, available in our standard laminated finish or upgrade to a domed insert for a premium finish. The addition of a transparent acrylic dome creates thicker, 3D inserts for an elevated look.

Can engraving plates / custom inserts be replaced?
If you find yourself with surplus trophies from a previous event, why not give them new life by recycling them with fresh engraving plates? Simply prise off the existing plates from the corner – they're designed to be removed but will not budge unless deliberately removed. Our metal plates come with self-adhesive backing, making it simple to peel off and adhere them to the awards. If you need assistance or guidance, our customer service team is here to help. Replacement engraving plates can be ordered via our website here.
Replacing custom inserts is also a straightforward process. To swap out the existing insert, gently peel it off. The new inserts are also self-adhesive, so you just peel off the backing and stick them onto the award. It's as simple as that! You'll find custom inserts available to purchase here. Please be aware that there's a minimum order requirement of 25 pieces per design for this product.
Which format should I submit my logo in?
Logos can be uploaded as a jpg, pdf, gif, eps, indd, ai, png, cdr or jpeg directly onto the product page.
What makes a good image?
Our design team will carefully size and set your design to fit the designated area so there is no need to upload a prepared file, but for best results we strongly advise providing a high-resolution image. Your brand deserves to shine in clarity and detail, and a low quality image may risk pixelation, diminishing the overall impact of your design.
Resolution: A higher number of pixels per inch (PPI) or dots per inch (DPI) results in a sharper image. Higher resolution allows for more detail and smoother edges.
Sharpness: A clear and well-defined focus contributes to the sharpness of an image. Images that are in focus and free from blurriness appear more professional.
Compression: Excessive compression can lead to pixelation and loss of detail.
Noise: Low levels of noise, such as graininess in low-light conditions, contribute to a cleaner and more polished appearance.
By paying attention to these factors, you can ensure that your image is well-prepared for printing and that the final result meets your expectations in terms of quality and visual impact.

How much does it cost to add personalisation to my order?
We provide free engraving and customised inserts across the majority of our product range, including all standard trophies.
While there might be extra charges for metal engraving on our premium cups, these will always be clearly outlined on the product page.
Rest assured, we never charge any setup costs for logo setting. If you are ordering bespoke awards engraved with your custom logo and wording, a proofing service will be included free of charge.
Is there a minimum order?
We're proud to offer a no minimum order requirement for all our trophies and awards. Regardless of whether you're buying one or several of the same item, each piece can be personalised for its recipient at no extra charge.
However, when it comes to our custom insert medals, we do require a minimum order of 25 units per design. This ensures that we can maintain the highest standards of production efficiency and quality control.
Can I upload a photograph to be engraved on glass or wood?
Unfortunately, photographs cannot be engraved because the process involves etching the design onto the product’s surface with a laser beam.
Photographs, being composed of continuous tones and varying shades of colours, cannot be replicated through this process. Negative space can be used to create some level of depth, but it is not possible to achieve shading or multiple textures unfortunately.
Engraving is better suited for producing designs with distinct lines and shapes such as line art, vector graphics, and text.
If you're unsure about your design options, please feel free to start a live chat or send us an email, and we'll be happy to provide guidance!
Can my logo be engraved in colour?
Unfortunately, full-color logos or images are not compatible with traditional engraving methods. These techniques typically involve removing or altering the surface material rather than adding colored substances.
However, we're excited to introduce UV printing to our range of services. This innovative method offers exceptional branding and customisation opportunities, allowing for vibrant full-color designs with remarkable precision and detail, even for intricate patterns. Find out more here!
