Remembering The Queen Elizabeth II

Remembering The Queen Elizabeth II

Queen Elizabeth II has passed away at the age 96. She was the longest-reigning monarch in British history, who served as the UK’s Queen since 1952. Buckingham Palace announced the news of her passing on Thursday evening, a few hours after reports began circulating about the Queen’s health. Her death follows that of her late husband, Prince Philip, 99, who passed in April last year. Since the news rippled across the world, tributes have been flooding in to show respect to the Queen and offer condolences to the Royal family.

The Queen represented traits that embodied every aspect of a great leader. She navigated her commitment to her country under immense pressure and frequent criticism over each decade whilst remaining calm. Her life was dedicated to her service, visiting countries, supporting charities as well as providing hundreds of honours, medals, and titles to thrilled individuals throughout her whole life. She remained consistent during controversial times and was a consistent figure for many despite huge changes in society. She represented pride, honour, and dignity.

It was back in 1947, aged 21, that the Queen pledged herself to her nation:

‘‘I declare before you all that my whole life whether it be long or short shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.’’

The Queen was a monarch that inspired and respected around the world. She had an exceptional devotion to service and dedicated her life to serving her country. Alongside the rest of the nation, we are deeply saddened to hear of Her Majesty The Queen’s passing. We would like to thank her for her diligent service during her 70-year reign. We send our thoughts and condolences to the entire Royal family, as well as the nation as we collectively mourn at this difficult time.
