Celebrate Your Student's Successes: FFA Awards That Deserve a Trophy

The National FFA Organisation stands for the Future Farmers of America. The organisation prepares young people for a career in the agricultural sector.
The FFA organisation gives support to young people through hands-on experience that they can take with them throughout their career. Many young members of the FFA go on to be chemists, vets and government officials. Some move on from agriculture into the financial sector successfully, and the skills they are given will cross sectors.
The FFA organisation offers many FFA awards and opportunities for young people to develop their skills. The awards evening takes place with various trophies and medals handed out to winners.
We’ve rounded up the top awards available to members of the FFA organisation below.
1. The FFA Agriscience Fair
This fair is hosted to recognise the achievements of student researchers in school in year 7 to year 12.
The students that present at this fair have already won awards for their research at the county level. The research is categorised into Animal Systems, Environmental Services/Natural Resource Systems, Food Products and Processing System, Plant Systems, Power, Structural and Technical Systems, and Social Science.
2. Agricultural Proficiency Awards
This award is given to students who develop special skills in the agricultural sector whilst on a supervised placement. These skills should be industry relevant and able to help them in their future career. There are 4 categories for this award; Entrepreneurship, Placement, Combined and Agriscience Research.
3. American Star Awards
This is an all-around award where the winner has gone above and beyond in their involvement, attitude community service and supervised agricultural experience. There are 4 categories to this award; Agribusiness, Agricultural Placement, Agriscience, and Farmer.
4. Honorary Awards
Honorary awards are given to supporting members such as teachers, individuals and businesses who give support and experiences to the FFA association members.
Honorary American FFA Degree award is for individuals who provided an agricultural education service to a national level with exceptional education programmes.
Distinguished Service Citation awards organisations or businesses that contribute greatly to the FFA.
The VIP Citation awards individuals for 20+ years of service to the FFA association.
5. National Chapter Award
This awards the FFA association members involved in updating and planning standards and programmes and improving educational experiences.
6. American FFA Degree
This is the highest award available from the National FFA Organisation. It is an award for dedication to your state FFA association and efforts recognised nationwide.
7. Grants and Scholarships
Although not technically an award, the FFA organisation also offers various grants and scholarships to help talented young people with educational expenses. They offer both underprivileged students and highly academic students a chance to win.
