6 Trophies for 6 Nations

6 Trophies for 6 Nations

Six Nations Rugby

The Rugby Six Nations Cup is fast approaching. The 2020 tournament will once again see England, France, Ireland, Scotland and Wales international rugby union teams compete against one another over the course of five thrilling weekends. Wales will hope to retain their title, while the remaining 5 countries will tenaciously try to knock them off the top spot and collect some silverware for themselves. Patriotism will be at its highest over the coming weeks - with neighbouring countries eager to reclaim their very own bragging rights!

With all this excitement heating up, we thought it would only be fair to present each country competing this year with their very own trophy (Don’t worry, we’ve including Italy as well).

England as a Trophy

SOUL ANTIQUE GOLD MALE RUGBY TROPHY: A stunning golden rugby figure award. Featuring a highly detailed male rugby player to the fore of a rugby ball decor.  An engraving plate on the base allows for personalisation to be added.

The favourites going into this tournament and also to earn the Grand Slam, England will be looking to make a comeback after their loss to South Africa in the World Cup Final - and what better way to do so than on home soil? The Soul Antique Gold Rugby Trophy, synonymous with champions, therefore best represents England ahead of the Six Nations. England still retain all their world-class players, so strong performances are expected from this experienced team. We’ll be waiting with anticipation to see whether they can defeat reigning champions Wales for a six nations spectacular.

Wales as a Trophy

RED CELTIC DRAGON AWARD 13.5CM (5 1/4"): A novelty red dragon trophy, standing 13.5cm. With a red 3D dragon, mounted on a base that houses an engraving plate for personalisation.

It seems only fair that the novelty red dragon trophy most appropriately encapsulates the Welsh rugby team - with a Dragon featuring on the Welsh flag and one of the biggest symbols of Wales.

Characteristic traits of a dragon include dominance, ambition, authority, dignity and capacity. They're driven, unafraid of challenges, and willing to take risks, all emblematic of the fierce welsh rugby players who, since the 6 nations came to fruition in 2000, have single-handedly scored the most grand-slams.

As the reigning champions of the six nations cup, Wayne Pivac will be looking to continue the high standards set the last tournament by Gatland. With an abundance of talent within their team, we have no doubt that the Welsh players will continue to be fierce competitors this time around.

Italy as a Trophy

TOTAL SPOON NOVELTY WOODEN SPOON AWARD 16CM (6 1/4"): A resin novelty wooden spoon, measuring 16cm. Featuring a sad faced wooden spoon figure, stood on a base which houses an engraving plate for personalisation.

In the six nations, the wooden spoon is a metaphorical prize for the team that finishes last. Comparable to the Lanterne Rouge in the Tour de France, where the last cyclist to cross the finish line is honoured for their completion of the race. However, in Rugby, no award is presented.

During this year's 6 nations tournament, you’ll hear much discussion about this prize - with each team praying they are not in the running to reclaim ‘the spoon’. Unfortunately for Italy, since their introduction in 2000, they have collected the most wooden spoons, with a total of 14 - eight of which were complete whitewashes. We hope they will have better fortune this time around.

France as a Trophy

CONQUEROR ANTIQUE GOLD ACTION RUGBY TROPHY: A gold resin action male rugby award. Featuring a male player in action with a ball under his arm.  Set against a flared dimple detail background base which holds a 1 inch centre disc and an engravable metal plate for personalisation.

Surprisingly, many are picking France as another favourite ahead of the 2020 tournament. They were close to securing themselves a spot at the world cup quarter-finals following their defeat to Wales and have a young exciting French side that could be dangerous in the six nations cup.

The Conqueror seems like a fitting trophy to represent the French team - connoting fierceness, speed and high-quality, all factors they have in strength and depth. With a new coaching staff and a new captain, France will be a contender for one of the top spots.

Scotland as a Trophy

BRAVEHEART LION RUGBY AWARD 12.5CM (5") A novelty lion rugby trophy, standing 12.5cm. With a 3D smiling lion figure, holding a rugby ball and cup mounted on a base which houses an engraving plate for personalisation.

Given the name of the trophy description, we think it's only fitting that this trophy best represents Scotland. ‘Braveheart’, based upon the medieval, sword-wielding Scottish hero William Wallace, is an epic blockbuster hit depicting the fight for Scottish independence. Indeed, the scots are known for being fiercely proud of their country and will defend it with their last breath. Fiery and bold. Historically Scots are brave, stubborn, and courageous. All still true. We believe it’s only right to give them a lion to represent their valance and fearless mentality. Hopefully, their rugby performance will substantiate this notion.

Ireland as a Trophy

BOBBLE HEAD MANAGER AWARD 15CM (6"): A gold resin manager award measuring 15cm. With a bobble head figure, wearing a hat with the word 'Manager'.  On a gold base, which holds an engraving plate for personalisation

Following a disappointing Rugby World Cup tournament, Ireland will be ready to redeem themselves this Six Nations tournament. Joe Schmidt is gone and replaced with Andy Farrell, an experienced coach - with Saracens, England and The Lions already on his list of credentials. He’ll be eager to make waves at this nations cup and with a team brimming with world-class players who have collected some fancy silverware of their own, there's much to play for. Ireland are deservedly one of the teams to be wary of come tournament time.
