The World Cup trophy is given out every four years to men and every four years to women.

 

4. Stanley Cup

The Stanley Cup is well known. It is awarded in the National Hockey League (NHL). It is made of both silver and nickel alloy and weighs about 15 kilograms.

This famous trophy came about in 1893 and is named after Lord Stanley.

The Stanley Cup has been won 100 times since 1914!

 

5. Wimbledon

One final famous sports trophy is the one given to the winner of Wimbledon, specifically men's singles. It is made of silver gilt and is about 18 inches tall.

The Wimbledon trophy debuted in 1887, presented by All England Club. Interestingly enough, this trophy actually replaced the older Field Cup.

Every winner receives a replica and their name is engraved on the original.
